OUR CUSTOM PROCESS
Custom jewelry design at Lindwedel Jewelers begins with understanding the story behind the piece. Some customers come in with family stones they would like to reset, while others arrive with inspiration from a sketch, Pinterest photo, TikTok video, or a simple idea written on a notepad. Wherever the starting point may be, our role is to help you shape that inspiration into something real and wearable.
We guide you through design possibilities, gemstone options, proportions, and construction details so you can see how each decision affects the final look and long-term wear of the piece. The process is thoughtful and step-by-step, allowing you to move forward with clarity and confidence.

#1
Inspiration & Consultation
Every custom jewelry project begins with a conversation. We take time to understand how you plan to wear the piece, what styles you are drawn to, and whether you are redesigning existing jewelry or starting from scratch. Customers often bring photos, sketches, heirloom pieces, or saved ideas from social media.
This first step helps establish direction, timeline expectations, and overall design goals.

#2
Design Development
Once we understand your vision, we begin refining the design. This may involve adjusting stone sizes, setting styles, metal choices, or structural details to ensure the piece is both visually balanced and durable for everyday wear.
CAD renderings are created so you can clearly visualize the custom jewelry design before it is produced. This stage allows for thoughtful revisions and fine-tuning.

#3
Model Preview
A unique part of our custom jewelry experience is the ability to preview your piece in physical form. Using onsite 3D printing technology, we can create a wax model of the design. This allows you to try the piece on, evaluate proportions, and request adjustments before final production begins.
Being able to see and feel the design in this way helps remove uncertainty and ensures the finished jewelry aligns with your expectations.

#4
Production & Craftsmanship
After final approval, your custom jewelry piece moves into production. Stones are set, surfaces are finished, and structural details are carefully completed with attention to long-term wearability.
Throughout this stage, our focus remains on quality craftsmanship and accurate execution of the approved design.

#5
Completion & Ongoing Care
We’re always here as your jewelry needs change over time, whether that means adjustments, future redesigns, or simply helping you care for the piece long term.
Hear from those who’ve been through the process
If I could give 100 stars, I would! We worked hand in hand with Sam for over a month to design the perfect one of a kind ring for my fiancé. The absolutely amazing care, time, and patience that Sam had as we flip flopped and had hard times deciding the design he wanted, was phenomenal. When we finished, we had the ring of his dreams, and a jeweler to use for the rest of our lives. His response wait was short to none, his personality is stellar, and he is truly so knowledgeable. Will recommend to all friends, and anyone needing quality work.

Everyone was super nice, very knowledgeable and prompt with any and all questions I had! Will absolutely be using them for any and all jewelry needs in the future!!

The best place to get all and any jewelry! Sam and his family are not only the sweetest people on this planet, but they know what they are doing and will do anything and everything to make you happy! They did our wedding bands and I couldn't be more grateful for them and it was the best decision to use them!

I was recommended to Lindwedel by a family friend and it was the best recommendation yet! Sam was so kind and very helpful when we first met him. We sat down with him to discuss what wedding bands we would like and he ended up helping us and explaining how a custom wedding band would work with a family heirloom. The result was fantastic and my fiance and could not be more happy with our weddings bands! I would highly recommend going to Lindwedel for all of your jewelry needs!

Highly recommend! I wanted a custom ring made from my parents wedding rings, since they have both passed. I didn’t have a clear concept and didn’t trust just anyone with this very special and meaningful piece. I came to Lindwedel at a friend’s suggestion and I’m so glad I did! Sam and the Lindwedel family took the time to get to know me, listened to what I wanted, walked me through the process, designed a beautiful ring, and tweaked the design until it was perfect. The end product is STUNNING – more beautiful that I even imagined! Lindwedel will be my go-to from now on for all my jewelry needs.
